The Iraqi Season 01 Episode 02

Every morning, I open my eyes in my room at the crack of dawn, cheek to cheek with a painful off-white rigid pillow. My eyes are fixed on the laptop screen; checking most local and International news websites; scrolling down obituaries for a familiar name, a family member or a friend, an acquaintance or a loved one, a silly nerd or even a hated jerk! It became an amusing yet very awkward habit to check the deceased. You get to know lots of things about the dead. “Dazzling beauty whose astonishing life thrilled and appalled both high society and her cat Dingo”, “Painter and sculptor who stole Jawad Al Assadi from Um Abdullah but hated being known as his wife”. “Ahmad Numani passed away peacefully on the 22nd of January 2011, aged 95 years. His grandsons and daughters are deeply shocked for his early unexpected death.” “Lebanese Composer whose symphonies were very popular for the late Iraqi regime.” “Fearless reporter and an ex-eye witness for Al-Arabiyya Network who covered the Syrian Revolution in Homs killed before earning his first legal salary.” “The kindest man in wrestling entertainment who tragically ended his life after slaughtering his wife and 9 year-old kid, The Goblin, was found dead in the patio of his California mansion.” “A Lebanese nationalist so-called historian who re-wrote history based on ‘I told you so and that’s the bottom line’ died after a struggle with the disease we never mention its name.” “Oud player who lived on his father’s fame and connections was killed tragically by a man whore.” “She never knew how to act; she never knew how to dance; she never even knew how to walk; she’s Lebanon’s number one mega star. The Country is morning her as well as her 2000 facebook fans.” And on and on and on…
I know death has million several doors, but each & everyone of them is like a fuckin' poisonous knife stabbed in the heart & twisted several times until the end of time. I vaguely remember My Aunt, last time I saw her I was 6! Verse, Fame, and Beauty are intense indeed, But Death yet still intenser - Death is Life's high meed.
I’m not afraid of death but when it comes I’d better be as far as I could ever be.
